Narrow Gauge Engine.-

The Truckee Republican of the 17th says: "A narrow gauge engine No. 2, of the Monterey and Salinas Valley Railroad, passed through Truckee yesterday from the Baldwin Locomotive Works, at Philadelphia. It seemed well calculated to do the work, and was the occasion of quite an assembling at the depot as it passed through. The drive wheels are forty-two inches in diameter, with a sixteen inch stroke. Its weight was twenty-one tons. It was carried through on a car specially constructed to carry engines trussed, and with a platform which rested on rollers, to allow for making short turns.
