These flat cars used Thielson Iron Trucks from Russell Wheel & Foundary. These cars are listed as being in service April 1882. 100 narrow gauge Thielson trucks (for 50 cars) were bought during January to March, 1882 at $146 each. There is a note that the 50 flat cars cost $192 and the amount charged C&C was $200 each.

300-329* La Mothe Patent Box Cars. Ordered c. July 1880 from Jesup, Paton & Company, New York. Cars shipped as kits, manufactured by Allison & Son.
30 pipe frame box car kits were acquired but only 26 were compled as box cars. Cost New $495 each fob New York. Cars ordered with Theilson style truck in place of La Mothe designs, photographs show cars riding on wood transom trucks ("Bliss" trucks?). The completed cars are listed as entering service as of July 15, 1881. C&C Superitnendent R. J. Laws called these 25' long cars “small box cars.” Appearently assembled by a contractor at Hawthorn Nevada. All cars out of service by 1910.
