30 pipe frame box car kits were acquired but only 26 were compled as box cars. Cost New $495 each fob New York. Cars ordered with Theilson style truck in place of La Mothe designs, photographs show cars riding on wood transom trucks ("Bliss" trucks?). The completed cars are listed as entering service as of July 15, 1881. C&C Superitnendent R. J. Laws called these 25' long cars “small box cars.”
