No. 15 is on the Alameda Ferry Terminal wharf with the pump house in the background. The pump was used to pump water from a well to the water tanks at the top of the two towers flanking the ferry slip apron. The boiler was sized to be able to operate a steam engine and dynamo to light the terminal by electricity. The steam engine and dynamo were never installed. Electric lights were installed in the terminal May 1897. Wires were strung down the pier from the Alameda City power plant.
