Tank #915 was built in 1888 by the Central Iron Works in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Owned by the Union Oil Company and numbered #915, the tank saw service on the Pacific Coast Ry from 1906 until 1934 when it was moved north to serve the NCNG. There it was placed on flat #187, a former F&CC flat. Both the tank and number maintained their independent numbers during service on the NCNG. After the line shut down, tank #915 was placed on concrete pads at the bulk oil distributor until it was rescued by the NCNG group in the 1990s. During restoration the NCNG Museum volunteers did a fine job recreating the appearance of flat #187 utilizing the trucks from D&RGW stock car #5522 and fabricating the rest, including the iron bolsters.
