This view of Pacific Coast Borax #1 "Marion" in Ludlow, California suffered some damage over the years. This 25 ton 2 truck Heisler (c/n 1018) was built by the Stearns Manufacturing Company of Erie, PA. in February 1898. The PCB ordered two Heislers for use on their Borate & Daggett Railroad near Daggett, CA. The two Heislers were named "Marion" and "Francis" after the company's founder Francis Marion "Borax" Smith.
