History

Restored flatcar #8 in Loon Lake, California in 2014.

Flatcar #8 was built for the Bodie & Benton Railway & Lumber Company by the Virginia & Truckee Railroad shops in Carson City, Nevada.

On Display at the June Lake Marina in June Lake CA. Body rescued from a wreck site below Bodie and restored for display.

Note: The trucks used under this restoration are from a Crown Zellerbach flatcar and are not representative of the design used in service.

Specifications

25'6" long.

Originally this car rode on Bliss Pattern trucks.
