1871

Narrow gauge coaches built by Jackson & Sharp for the Denver & Rio Grande are painted on the interior with a "rich dark green" with gold leaf accents.

1883

The private car Fredonia built for Colonel J. Condit Smith, general manager of the Chicago & Atlantic Railroad, is painted dark sage green with gold ornamentation. The interior is polished cherrywood with bird's eye maple head linings on the ceiling.
