California / Industrial / Cowell Portland Cement Company Railroad
The Cowell Portland Cement Company had both narrow gauge and standard gauge locomotives. Numbers 1 and 2 were standard gauge, No. 1 lettered for the Cowell Portland Cement Company and No. 2 lettered for the Bay Point & Clayton Railroad. The Cowell Cement Co. Locomotive did shifting work at the cement plant moving rock from the crusher to the mill. The BP&C locomotive moved finished product from the mill to the Southern Pacific or Santa Fe railroads. The narrow gauge (42") locomotives were all lettered for the Cowell Portland Cement Co. They moved limestone from the quarries to the rock crusher.
