Utah / Common Carriers / Utah & Pleasant Valley Railroad
History
The Utah & Pleasant Valley Railway was organized in 1875 by Nephi and Milan Packard, brothers who contracted the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad and owned coal claims in the Pleasant Valley southeast of their hometown of Springville, Utah. No significant construction was accomplished until the company was sold to Charles Scofield in 1878.
