Melody Ranch
Star of Western films, Gene Autry, purchased the locomotive in 1955 and moved it to his 'Melody Ranch', the former Monogram Studio in Newhall, California. He maintained the studio, now complete with a railroad for filming western films and television series. A massive firestorm roared through Newhall’s Placerita Canyon on August 28, 1962, destroying virtually all the structures on the Melody Ranch property. Much of what remained in Gene Autry's collection was sold over the following decades until he finally sold the ranch itself in 1990.
Merrill, Oregon
The locomotive was purchased by Fred Kepner and moved to Merrill, Oregon where it is stored in a disassembled state.
