Locomotives

Road numbers on locomotives are painted within a red shield, which employees refer to as the "liver pad."

Passenger Cars

1882

Smoking cars painted straw, with corner boards and letter-boards painted a light umber. Bevelled corners of batten strips on the car sides painted black. Car ornamentation in “Egyptian designs.”
