1851

“Blake’s Patent Ohio Fire-Proof Paint” used by the company since 1847. The testimonial does not explicitly state that the paint was used on cars. See Baltimore & Ohio for more information on Blake’s Paint.

1888

Flag trademark consisting of a “white field with blue bar running from each of the four corners across the flag,” bearing the letters “C. R. R. of Ga.,” begins to be painted on the sides of all boxcars.
