Vermont Central Pullman sleeping cars, “Saint Albans” (a different car than the one described in 1870), “Montpelier,” “Concord,” and “Nashua,” painted a “very dark, almost black color; and the striping and ornamenting, which is very profuse, being almost wholly gold, with a little red and green interspersed.”

CV Wagner sleeping car painted dark olive with striping and ornamentation in gold leaf, green, carmine lake, and vermillion. Panel mouldings in drop black, edged in bronze green. Lettering in gold, shaded with carmine lake, vermillion, and black. Trucks painted Indian red, striped with pale green.

Pullman sleeping cars built for Central Vermont are painted dark green with gold leaf ornamentation. The interior is polished mahogany. The interior ceiling around the clerestory is finished in bronze leather with old gold relief.
