Freight Cars

1852

Freight car specifications call for “dark brown paint and metal lettering.”

Passenger Cars

1857

Passenger car used to convey U.S. President Buchanan painted buff, with panel stripes of vermilion, brown, and orange. Platform, railings, and brake wheels bronzed.

Directors’ car painted light claret and striped in different shades of green. Trucks painted green and striped with yellow.
